Apoorva Arya: “Project in Practice has opened many avenues for me to explore”

Apoorva Arya after her Project in Practice exam

”Exploring my idea full time as a Project in Practice seemed like the most rewarding experience I could imagine while pursuing my degree,” says student entrepreneur Apoorva Arya, who just completed her Project in Practice at the SCIENCE Innovation Hub.

The dream of becoming an entrepreneur and creating her own company from scratch has been with Apoorva Arya since childhood. A passion for climate issues and a drive to make a difference is the reason, why Apoorva is an exchange student at the University of Copenhagen, where she is taking her MSc in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics.

Working with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation introduced Apoorva to Circular Economy, which is now in the core of her startup business idea. With her co-founder, Arpit Bhutani, she is developing a crowdfunding platform that connects circular economy innovators with potential investors – The Circular Innovation Lab. By doing a Project in Practice Apoorva got to explore her business idea, while gaining ECTS and at the same time get valuable feedback from both her Academic Supervisors, fellow student entrepreneurs and business developers at the SCIENCE Innovation Hub.

“My experience on this project has opened many avenues for me to explore. I can use this experience to make a solid business plan. Furthermore, I can use the network I made here to understand the Danish market and my competitors such as other crowdfunding platforms in Denmark.”

Apoorva expresses, that she has learned to use tools and techniques of the innovation process on an actual idea, and that it has increased her knowledge on different spectrums of a business vastly.

”During my journey in the past few months, I have come to realize a lot about being an entrepreneur, using my skills and experience in the most efficient way,” she says in conclusion.
