Frequently Asked Questions for Single Subject Courses
No, there are no courses which are designed specifically for single subject students. Single subject students are taught together with ordinary full-time students, i.e. in the daytime.
Please note:
- You cannot register for a project – such as a bachelor project or master’s thesis – as a single subject course.
- You can only register for multiple single subject courses in the same degree programme if the total number of ECTS credits does not exceed half of the degree programme’s ECTS credits. For example, if you want to enrol in single subject courses in the bachelor programme in Mathematics, which has a total of 180 ECTS credits, you may only enrol in Mathematics courses equivalent to up to 90 ECTS credits at bachelor level.
No, you will not receive an exam certificate after your exam.
You can print out your results from your Self Service > Enrolment, Courses and Exams > Transcripts.
If you need a signed printout of your exam results, you can order it at SCIENCE Student Services.
There is a timetable for each course which also shows where the course is taught. The timetable for your course can be found via the course description.
No, that is not possible. Single subjects fall under part-time education, and single subject students are not eligible for the state education grant (SU). In special cases, you can apply for State Educational Support for Adults (SVU). See more at www.svu.dk/english/.
You can only access Absalon once you have paid the course fee and the payment has been registered. It can take up to seven working days from when you pay the course fee and until we have registered your payment.

Your payment may not be registered yet. Write to us at studenterservice@science.ku.dk and send a screenshot of your payment. This will help us to find out whether we have received your payment.
Once your payment for the course has been registered, you will receive an email which informs you how to access the University’s systems.
Students are not automatically registered for a second exam attempt. If you would like to be registered for a re-exam, you must send an email to studenterservice@science.ku.dk. It is important that you send the email within the period for direct registration for the exam.

You have paid for two exam attempts. One exam attempt in the ordinary exam period, and one exam attempt subsequently, either as a re-exam or for the next ordinary exam. If you need a third exam attempt, you will have to pay for it.
After taking the exam, you might have to wait up to four weeks before you can see your results in your Self Service > Enrolment, Courses and Exams > Transcripts.
