Design of Experiments and Optimization

The aim of the course is to provide participants with both theoretical and practical knowledge in (statistical) experimental design and process/ product optimization. Participants will obtain knowledge on the major strategies, factors and pitfalls in designed investigations performed in industry, better understand and optimize production systems and/ or products in a time-efficient/minimal-resources way. 

The course will enable the participant to:

  • Sound and corrected statistical inference (“statistical decision making”) from data.
  • Conduct full and fractional factorial plus other classical experimental investigations.
  • Conduct constrained experimental investigations (hierarchical, split-plot, computer generated, etc.).
  • The rules, requirements, boundaries and guidelines of statistical experimentation and process optimization.
